The fact that some of your aspirations did not come to realization should not be a devastation. The fact that some of your prayers or wishes did not manifest in the previous year does not mean your God has forsaken or displeased with you. If it did not come to you, it may not be meant for you. If it did not happen at the time, it may not be the right time. Remember! Delay is not dismay. To fall is not to fail. Dear God! Grant us the acceptance of prayer and the patience to wait for the best and right time; and please make it a year of hope that is devoid of mope. Folks! Its a new year! Its a new dawn! Its a new day to celebrate. Have a happy one!

A pain may arise from a physical injury or an emotional injury. whichever way it comes, it is important to note that it will not last.  Think about the way you came into existence, a great pain was felt by mom. This pain lasted for a few hours and succor followed. Think about the numerous gains so far this year. If only we know that our cry for success is soon to dry, we would bore the pain with a smile. Remember! The after taste of bitter leaf is a sweet taste. There is ease after hardship. Surely there is gain after pain as long as there is faith.  Dear God! Give us the faith to bear the pain till there comes the gain amen. Have a gainful week.

MJ, a young lady in her late teens was traveling between states in an Africa country. The cost of a public inter state transport was 30 box, but her dad gave her an additional 50 box for Intra state transport, food, gifts and other things as deemed necessary.  In her usual smart ideas, MJ had her own plans to get a free ride, so she get to keep all the money. Aren, her childhood friend lives in the same city and has an uncle who works in the urban city MJ is visiting. Aren’s uncle visits his family every weekend and leaves for work again every Monday. It was a perfect timing, because Aren’s uncle came home to see his family this weekend and will be leaving for work early Monday morning. MJ’s plan was successful and they both set out for the state “L” at about 6 am. The journey took about an hour. Chatting all the way with her friend’s uncle, MJ was thinking about how lavishly she is going to spend and enjoy life with the saving from her transport fare. When it was about 10 minutes to get to their destination, MJ started looking for the money from her bag. She didn’t find it, but thought she would have more time to look for it when she gets to state L. Thank God for a safe drive. She alighted from the car at about 7 am, thanked her friend’s uncle with a warm goodbye. She now searched her bags thoroughly for the money at this time because she needed to take a local transport to her final destination. Alas! She could not find the money. Oh my God! Thought MJ. I cannot walk 20 kilometers to get to my final destination, reaffirmed MJ. So many questions was going through her mind, no mobile phones to call anyone. It was hustle and bustle in this metropolitan city. Everyone was going about their daily lives; street hawkers, road traders, corporate men and women, school children, public buses, cabs etc. It was a busy morning as usual. There was a big motor park where she was and the noise from the bus drivers and their assistant was a nightmare. MJ decided to approach and ask one of those corporate looking guys for 10 box to get on the bus. From the first  up to the tenth person she spoke to, it was rain of abuses, curses, suspicion, bad look etc. With a big disappointment from the “so called corporate” guys, she started crying. Will crying solve my problem? she asked herself. No!. At this time, she saw a driver assistant popularly called conductor, in tattered clothes and unassuming , shouting and calling passengers on to his bus . She asked him for 10 box. Without any hesitation, he went for his pocket and handed a 10 box note to MJ. He then stopped another bus driven by his colleague and plying the same route as MJ . He said to the other conductor ” please do not collect transport fare from her, she is my sister” MJ hopped on the bus,  became so emotional and thanked her ‘new brother'(conductor) exceedingly. She was so touched by his kindness. Lesson learnt:
1. You make a plan but the best of planner, the supreme makes it work.
2. Always tell people that matter to you( parents, spouse, sibling etc) things they need to know about you. It could be a result of not telling her dad that made her not to find the money.
3. Your help may come from where you never expected.  Do not prejudge. Have an open mind when you need help.
Folks! Have an open mind when you need help. May God open for us ways where there seems to be none amen

Every meeting is for a reason, whether negative or positive. It may be between families, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, associations, organizations etc. The best and the most important ingredient of every meeting is that the truth be spoken, irrespective of from whom, to whom and about whom. The truth may not go well all the time with all concerned. The fact remains that, once said from the heart without any dart will be nice. Either way you may learn or earn from it. Dear God! Make us learn and earn good in every meeting we find ourselves amen. Please make our meeting with You a glorious one amen. Have a positive weekend.

Does it really matter what tribe, color, sex, religious beliefs or status? You breath I breath! You bleed I bleed!  You feel I feel! You smile I smile! You sleep I sleep! We are all the same beautiful creatures of God. Tribe is what you see when throb is missing. Color is what you perceive when parlor is not in place. Language is what you hear when love is not spoken. Think about why we look and feel the same, and you will see it is not by chance but to enhance. We are one family in a big colony. Brethren! Show the same love to someone today, and encourage someone to do the same. Have a lovely day !

Jealousy, slander, resentment and backbiting are the external effect of an internal bad feeling, Do not envy anyone for you do not have a clue about their own challenges. Be envious of yourself for what you have and what you will have. Compete with yourself, create a niche and be best at something  good. Brethren! Stay away from envy for it makes one stray from the path of goodness & mercy . Dear God! Make me envious of only Your creation with the way and manner they worship You amen. Smile & be happy. Giving out or giving up something may not be physical but mental . However, being emotionally attached to belongings that is not needed could also be related to the state of mind. We need to check our habits regularly; physical appearance, mode of talking, relationship with people etc to figure out those that needs to be DE- cluttered. Giving up some of these non-valuable intangible stuffs may be a great way to organize, prioritize and decipher the best way to live a happy life. Remember! It may not be a major one to start with. It may be as small as always making sure you leave the toilet clean for the next user.  Dear God! Make it easy for us to do away with those invaluable things and make us persons of value to many amen. Have a useful weekend.

You don’t have to give big to dive into their spiritual hearts.

Yomi , an artist promoter is the first son of a sibling of four.  He is a pleasant young man, working at an early age in a neighboring country and lives with his parents.  He comes home every other month for a few days before he leaves for work again. On a cold winter work-day at about 6:00 am, his dad TJ  left for work. Yomi had an intention to surprise his dad with his first gift, but didn’t know when he left for work. Immediately he realized that his dad’s car was not on the drive way, he picked up his phone to call. His dad  left about five minutes ago. This conversation ensued

Yomi: Dad. Where are you?

Dad: I am on my way to work; any problem?

Yomi: No dad. Can you please come back?

Dad: Paused! OK

On getting back to the house, Yomi was already waiting on the drive way.  As the dad was rolling down the car window to find out why he was asked to come back, Yomi slipped into his hand a rolled paper and said “take this”.  Before the dad could check what Yomi had given to him, he went back inside the house.  When the dad checked, it was two $100 bills. Wao!  Yomi’s gift shocked his dad as he wondered how at a young age of 19 ,  Yomi had grown matured enough to develop such a generous , compassionate and loving heart for his parents.  It was an emotional one for TJ, who felt he had the whole world from his son without asking! This made him very happy throughout the day. Ever since, Yomi has been a regular giver not only to his parents, but his siblings, relatives, friends and anyone who comes in contact with him.

Think about this:

A small gift to one’s parents  give them great joy, even if it means making them smile.

May God make Yomi’s children reciprocate him, grant his parents long life and grant us all the wherewithal to make our parents and others smile always amen.
